How to Make Mira’s Weapon (Kpop Demon Hunters Cardboard DIY)
Watching KPop Demon Hunters got me obsessed with the weapons. Rumi, Mira, and Zoey’s blades are so cute and aesthetic, but still powerful enough to slay demons.
For this build, I made Mira’s Curved Moon Sword weapon (Gok-Do). It’s massive and easily the hardest to craft. My first attempt was all trial and error, but once it came together, I was proud of how real it looked. For this tutorial, I rebuilt it at a smaller, easier-to-handle size for Mira cosplayers and tightened up a few details.
Here’s the step-by-step.
How to Make Mira’s Curved Moon Sword Weapon (Kpop Demon Hunters Cardboard Diy)
1. Rolling the Base Cardboard

First, I grabbed the biggest piece of cardboard I could find that could roll easily. I rolled it up tightly to make it stable and durable so it wouldn’t bend, then taped it up to hold its shape. Once it was secure, I glued it together to keep it from unrolling.
2. Adding the Stick & Second Roll

To extend the handle and give it more strength, I rolled up another piece of cardboard for the second section. Before gluing it on, I slid a wooden stick inside the first roll so it wouldn’t turn floppy. I glued everything together tightly before attaching the second roll on top.
3. Building the Third Roll

For the third section, I did a partial roll this time – this part connects to the blade later. I taped it so the gap stayed the right size, then filled in a few small pieces of cardboard to make a secure space for the blade to fit into.
4. Creating the Blade

Now for the main piece. I traced the curved-moon shape of Mira’s blade onto two big sheets of cardboard, then cut them out. One was a regular-thickness board, the other thinner, so when I glued them together the blade wouldn’t be too chunky. I waited to attach it until the rest of the sword was ready.
5. Making the Pommel

Next, I worked on the bottom of the weapon. Mira’s pommel is different from Rumi’s, so I left a small gap in the middle layer to connect it to the stick later on.
6. Painting the Sword

Finally – the fun part. I painted the entire stick metallic gold to match Mira’s sword and give it that shiny, polished finish.
7. Adding the Vinyl

To get that glowing, color-shifting look the Curved Moon Sword has, I wrapped parts of the blade, stick, and pommel in vinyl. It gave everything a slick, smooth texture that paint alone couldn’t.
8. Connecting the Blade

Once everything was dry, it was time to connect the blade. I used a generous amount of Gorilla Glue inside the top section of the stick to make sure it held tight – no shaking or falling off. And just like that, Mira’s curved moon sword was complete!
